Intelligence demonstrated by machines i.e related to computers is called Artificial intelligence.

It is often called machine intelligence in contrast to natural intelligence displayed by humans.

John McCarthy,who coined the term in 1956,defines it as "the science and engineering of making intelligent machines".

Artificial intelligence is also used to describe a property of machines or programs, the intelligence that the system demonstrates.

Artificial intelligence can be classified into three different types of systems:analytical, human inspired and humanized artificial intelligence .

The traditional goals of Artificial intelligence research include reasoning, knowledge representations, planning, learning, natural language processing, perception and the ability to move and manipulate object. General intelligence is among the fields long term goals. Approaches include statistical method,computational intelligence and traditional symbolic artificial intelligence. Many tools are used in artificial intelligence including versions of search and mathematical optimization, artificial neural networks and methods based on statistics, probability and economics. This field draws upon computer science, information engineering, mathematics, psychology, linguistics philosophy, and many other fields.

Risks:- Artificial intelligence is programmed to do something devastating. Artificial intelligence is programmed to do something beneficial, but it develops a destructive method for achieving its goal.

In twenty-first century Artificial intelligence have experienced a resurgence following concurrent advances in computer power, large amounts of data,and theoretical understanding.

Artificial intelligence techniques have become essential part of technology industry, helping to solve many challenging problems in computer science, software engineering and operations as well as reasearch.
